A little about me....

Growing up, my parents always used the term "creative" to describe me. From teaching myself how to play piano to sketching fashion to playing on the computer for all hours of the day, I knew design was the perfect path to pursue.

On May 25, 2013 I received my diploma from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design. I believe choosing this small college town in Northern California was one of the best decisions I have ever made. College was, to say the least, "the best years of my life"... so far. I have lived in Northern California and Southern California, and I have also traveled all over the U.S as well as several other countries. However, I have always known that Southern California (near a beach) is where I belong.

At the end of my sophomore year in college, I began working for a mortgage company. Starting out doing the grunt work of organizing huge amounts of data to becoming their Marketing Manager, this part-time job became much more valuable than I had originally anticipated.. Through the opportunities of being a Marketing Manager, I have acquired the valuable skills, knowledge, and confidence that most students do not obtain through simply obtaining a degree. With the combination of hands on experience and my studies, I have an in-depth understanding of how to communicate to audiences in visual, creative, and effective ways. While I was able to teach myself many of the neccessary skills for this position, I am eager to learn much more from leading professionals.

While I learned a great amount about business, economics, and real estate at my previous postion, many of my courses taken at CSUC revolved around the film and TV industries. These classes taught me about aesthetics, programming, and the political impacts on local, national, and global scales. My fascination of media, love of beauty, and attention to detail (borderline OCD) also aided my choice in chosing the Communication Design program.

I also had the opportunity to work for a local boutique specializing in women's apparel while attending CSUC. I was able to go on several photoshoots, working with many different professionals to obtain the perfect look for the company's online "look books". Collaborating and creating complete outfits was my favorite part. While I was only a "model", I was able to watch all the behind the scenes of marketing, dealing with bloggers, trade shows, ect for the company.

Since graduation, I have kept myself busy with graphic design freelancing as well as online marketing for an interior design firm based in Orange County. While I am seeking a full-time position with a creative company that has opporunity for growth, Freelance Work Requests are welcome! I sincerely love creating graphic design projects as well as increasing online presence for companies of all sizes. I would work 24 hours a day on my computer if it was healthy to do so!

Although college has come to an end, I am so excited to start a new chapter in my life, putting to use all that I have learned, to good use. I'm still learning who I am, and who I want to be, but I'm looking forward to becoming part of a team and making a positive difference while building a successful and happy life for myself.
